Tired of low energy girls programs due to low turnout? Tired of watching your girls be one of only a few girls in a large group of boys? Swish Girls Basketball is your solution. Our exciting girls training program continues to grow and improve on an already successful foundation.
This winter we'll have multiple opportunities to try the program on an individual session basis as we prepare for our 2020 spring, summer and fall programs. Registration is now open for our next event on Saturday, November 30th along with our 2020 Vision Winter Camp to be held on January 2nd & 3rd in Suwanee.
Swish Girls Basketball is a hybrid approach designed to answer many of the issues that plague rec and travel basketball programs. After years of hearing parents complain that they were investing so much time and money but their daughter's weren't getting better, I knew it was time to offer something different.
We know why this happens. Rec programs have a few practices and they're right into the season. Travel basketball isn't much better. Coaches and programs put far more emphasis on preparing to win games than developing players. The top five or six players get all of the playing time while the "fundraising crew", as I call them, sit on the end of the bench and wait. Even in rec league where they're guaranteed two quarters, supposedly, the training isn't there to help prepare young ladies to get the most out of that playing time.
At Swish Atlanta, we are developers rather than gatherers. We want to develop players so they enjoy the game more and choose to play for a long time. There's a reason so many girls drop out of the game. It's simply not fun if you're not comfortable and confident on the court.
Swish Girls Basketball answers the call. During our spring, summer and fall programs, each player receives two skill development/decision making sessions per week plus the ability to play internal games every Friday night officiated by Georgia Officials, LLC. This internal games approach will allow us the freedom to focus exclusively on helping players learn the game and be better prepared to compete at a higher level. When they're truly ready to test their abilities against competition that's far more intense than they're school teams typically play, we'll give them opportunities for outside competition.
Think of this as a hybrid between recreation, school, and intense travel basketball.
More training hours than rec programs.
More serious players to train and play with.
Better training than typical rec programs.
More consistent playing time than school or traditional travel ball.
Less financial and time commitment than traditional travel ball.
